Al-Noman Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2021 in Orlando, Florida. We were established in loving memory of Noman Abushanab, who was tragically lost to COVID-19. His lifelong dedication to helping others inspired his family and friends to create an organization that would carry his spirit of generosity forward and make a lasting difference in the lives of those who need it most.
Our mission is to empower underprivileged communities by providing access to clean water, quality education, nutritious food, and sacred places of worship. We serve communities in Benin, Palestine, Turkey, Yemen, and the United States, working directly on the ground to ensure that every dollar donated reaches the people it was meant to help. More than 90 cents of every dollar goes directly to programs and services for people in need.
We are driven by the belief that every person, regardless of their circumstances or where they were born, deserves the opportunity to live with dignity, hope, and possibility. Our volunteer-driven team works tirelessly to minimize overhead costs so that your generosity has the greatest possible impact on the communities we serve.
In 2021, the world lost a remarkable soul when Noman Abushanab passed away due to complications from COVID-19. Noman was more than a father, a husband, and a friend. He was a man who embodied generosity in its purest form. Throughout his life, he gave freely to anyone in need without hesitation or expectation of anything in return. His warmth and compassion left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
"Noman believed that every person, regardless of where they were born, deserved a chance at a dignified life."
When Noman passed, his family and loved ones refused to let his spirit of giving die with him. They came together with a shared vision: to create something that would honor his memory and continue the legacy of kindness he built throughout his life. That vision became Al-Noman Foundation, named in his honor to ensure that his name lives on through every well we build, every child we educate, every family we feed, and every community we uplift.
Noman's legacy is not measured in words. It is measured in the clean water that now flows in villages that had none, in the students who walk to school with new supplies and renewed hope, and in the families who no longer go to bed hungry. Every act of generosity through this foundation carries his name, his love, and his unwavering belief that the world can be a better place when we choose to give.
Everything we do is rooted in four essential pillars that address the most fundamental needs of the communities we serve.
We build water wells in rural communities that lack access to safe drinking water. A single well can serve hundreds of families, eliminating the need for children to walk miles to collect contaminated water and dramatically reducing waterborne illness. Clean water is the foundation for health, education, and economic opportunity.
Through our student sponsorship programs, we provide children with school bags, books, stationery, shoes, and food so they can attend school with dignity. For as little as $30 a month, a child receives everything they need to focus on learning rather than worrying about basic necessities. Education breaks the cycle of poverty for generations.
From our Bread a Day campaign that feeds a person for just 20 cents to our Dabiha program providing meat to families who rarely have it, we fight hunger at every level. We deliver fresh bread daily, distribute meals during holidays and crises, and work to ensure that no family in our communities goes to bed hungry.
We build and restore sacred spaces that serve as the heart of their communities. These places of worship provide more than spiritual solace. They become gathering spaces for education, community organizing, and mutual support. Investing in sacred spaces strengthens the social fabric of the entire community.
Our values are the foundation of every decision, every project, and every life we touch.
We uphold honesty in all of our interactions and hold ourselves to the highest standard of transparency with every dollar donated. We believe that trust is earned through accountability, and we are committed to showing donors exactly where their money goes and how it changes lives.
We put ourselves in the shoes of our beneficiaries and feel the urgency of their needs. Every decision we make is guided by empathy, understanding, and a deep commitment to treating every person we serve with the dignity and respect they deserve, just as Noman would have wanted.
Our sense of belonging to communities around the world brings us closer to the people in need and strengthens our impact. We believe that meaningful change happens when people come together, and we invite donors, volunteers, and community members to join us in building a better world.
We believe you deserve to know exactly how your donation is used. While many organizations spend 30-40% on overhead, we have built Al-Noman Foundation to ensure that more than 90 cents of every dollar you donate goes directly to the people and communities we serve.
Every dollar you give writes the next chapter in someone's life. Be part of the change today.
