The Virtue of Giving

Why Give During Ramadan?

Ramadan is a sacred time of spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and profound generosity. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was known to be the most generous during this blessed month, and charity given during Ramadan carries extraordinary reward.

Multiplied Rewards

Charity given during the month of Ramadan is worth many times more than charity given at any other time of the year. Scholars teach that good deeds performed during this blessed month are multiplied exponentially, making it the most impactful time to give. Every dollar you donate carries the weight of far greater reward in the sight of Allah.

Purification of Wealth

Zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam, and Ramadan is the month when many Muslims choose to fulfill this sacred obligation. By giving Zakat, you purify your wealth and cleanse your soul. The Arabic root of Zakat means both purification and growth, reflecting the spiritual and material benefits of giving generously from what Allah has provided.

Community Solidarity

While many of us fast by choice during Ramadan, millions of people around the world fast out of necessity every single day because they simply have no food. Your Ramadan giving bridges this divide and ensures that families who struggle year-round can break their fast with a proper meal and celebrate Eid with dignity and joy.

Fulfill your Islamic obligations and earn limitless reward by choosing from the giving options below. Al-Noman Foundation ensures that your donations are distributed to verified recipients in communities across Benin and Palestine.

Zakat al-Mal

2.5% of savings

Zakat al-Mal is the obligatory annual charity on your accumulated savings and wealth. It is a pillar of Islam and a duty upon every Muslim who meets the nisab threshold. Calculate your Zakat and fulfill this sacred obligation through our verified programs that reach those who are eligible to receive Zakat funds, including the poor, the needy, and those in debt.

Give Zakat

Zakat al-Fitr

$15 / person

Zakat al-Fitr is a special purification charity given before the Eid al-Fitr prayer. It is obligatory on every Muslim who has food in excess of their needs. This donation ensures that every family in the community — regardless of their circumstances — can celebrate Eid with a proper meal and experience the joy of the holiday with their loved ones.

Give Zakat al-Fitr

Sadaqah

Any Amount

Sadaqah is voluntary charity with no minimum amount and no obligation. It is one of the most beloved acts of worship in Islam, and during Ramadan its reward is multiplied beyond measure. Feed a family in Benin, sponsor a student's education, contribute to building a clean water well, or simply give whatever you can from your heart.

Give Sadaqah

Fidya / Kaffarah

$15 / day

Fidya is for those who are unable to fast during Ramadan due to chronic illness, old age, or pregnancy, and who cannot make up the missed days. Kaffarah is the atonement for deliberately breaking a fast without valid reason. In both cases, the payment feeds one person for each missed day of fasting, providing essential meals to the hungry.

Many families in Benin break their fast with little more than water, and your contribution ensures they receive real, nutritious nourishment at the end of each long day of fasting.

Imagine the reward of feeding an entire community for the full 30 days of Ramadan. With our Iftar calculator, you can see exactly how many people you can feed and what it will cost. Every cent goes directly to purchasing and preparing complete Iftar meals — rice, salad, a drink, and fish — for families who need it most.

The Night of Decree

The Last 10 Nights of Ramadan

The last ten nights of Ramadan contain Laylat al-Qadr — the Night of Decree — which the Quran describes as being better than a thousand months of worship. A single act of charity on this night is equivalent to giving charity every single day for over 83 years. No one knows exactly which night it falls on, which is why scholars recommend giving every night during the last ten.

By setting up a donation that covers each of the last ten nights, you ensure that no matter which night is Laylat al-Qadr, your charity will be counted among the deeds of that blessed night. Do not let this extraordinary opportunity pass without maximizing your reward.
